Description
Half length portrait of the son of Yasir Bin Hamud, a member of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party, taken at the southern end of Jabal Hafit (Jebel Hafeet) near Al Qabil. He is a young tribesman of the Junuba Bedouin, and stands with his hands on his hips facing towards the near left foreground. He wears a silver embossed khanjar (dagger) on a cartridge belt over his thobe (shirt) and an embroidered headscarf. In the distance behind him trees and bushes grow on a flat plain below Jabal Hafit (Jebel Hafeet), which rises in the far background.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
