Description
Half length portrait of a man at Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's Al Muwaiji fort in Al Ain. A man wearing a headscarf (ghutra) topped with a thick agal (head rope) and a thobe (long shirt) stands in front of Al Muwaiji fort. The handle of a khanjar (dagger) is visible above his waist. The adobe walls of Al Muwaiji for can be seen in the background behind him. This image was taken during April 6-30, 1948, when Wilfred Thesiger stayed at Al Muwaiji fort in Al Ain as a guest of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
