Description
View of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's hunting party riding camels through dry vegetation in Al Khatam sands near Al Ain. Four men and a boy pause on their camels in the midst of a vast flat plain dotted with scattered clumps of vegetation. The man on the far left carries a falcon on his arm, while beside Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (second from left) pauses on his camel. A man in a suit jacket rides his camel over a bush in front of Sheikh Zayed. On the right a young boy sits on a camel in front of another mounted member of the party. In the central distance a sixth person couches a camel. This image was taken between December 20, 1948, and January 27, 1949, during which time Wilfred Thesiger stayed with Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in Al Ain and joined him on a number of hunting excursions.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
