Description

View of two men with an ibex in the northern slopes of the Jabal Qara mountains. In the foreground two men sit on either side of a dead ibex. The man on the left, holding up the ibex's head, is a tribesman from one of the Qara tribes. The man on the right is likely one of Wilfred Thesiger's two Omani bodyguards, a retainer of the Wali of Salalah. In the background barren peaks and dry wadis (riverbeds) stretch out towards the Rub' al Khali in the distance.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
