Description
View of a man walking past a herd of goats at Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's hunting camp near Al Ain. A man wearing a thobe (long shirt) and ghutra (headscarf) walks past a herd of black and white goats resting in the sand. Two camels stand behind the goat herd, and further back a group of couched camels rest in the sand. In the centre background a group of men walk past tents erected in a grove of trees. The sand dunes around the camp are dotted with trees and shrubs. This image was taken during April 6-30, 1948, when Wilfred Thesiger stayed at Al Muwaiji fort in Al Ain as a guest of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
