Description

View of Wilfred Thesiger's party trekking through the As Saruq sands north of Liwa oasis during their journey to Abu Dhabi. In the foreground a low dune rises to the right, while behind it an expanse of low crescent-shaped dunes stretch out into the distance. At the right, one of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling companions, a tribesman of the Bayt Imani lineage of Rashid Bedouin, walks his camel through the sand. In the further distance at the centre, two more men walk ahead with a number of camels.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
