Description
Close-up portrait of the head of a Batina camel named Ghazala ('the gazelle'), a famous thoroughbred Batina camel owned by Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and renowned for its beauty and speed. The camel faces towards the left, and wears a chain halter attached to a head rope. Behind the camel bushes grow in the sand. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan loaned Ghazala to Wilfred Thesiger for his May 1-10, 1948 journey from Al Ain oasis to Sharjah.
