Seated group portrait of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's hunting party in Al Khatam sands near Jebel Hafeet (Jabal Hafit). Three men and a young boy sit close together in the sand. On the far left a young boy, Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, points his camel stick in the air front of the three men sitting to the right. The two men sitting in the centre are falconers in the the hunting party. Musallim bin Al Kamam, a sheikh of the Musaifar lineage of Rashid Bedouin and one of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling companions, kneels at the far right holding a camel stick. In the far left background another member of the party stands beside a bare bush. This image was taken between December 20, 1948, and January 27, 1949, during which time Wilfred Thesiger stayed with Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in Al Ain and joined him on a number of hunting excursions.
