On the left one man in a thobe (long shirt) and cap crouches on a wooden yard. On the right another man, wearing a ragged ghutra (headscarf) and thobe (long shirt), is is tying a rope. Behind them the sky is clear and empty of clouds. This image was taken during Wilfred Thesiger's May 18-28, 1948 journey by dhow from Dubai to Bahrain Island.
