Description
Standing full length portrait of Salim bin Ghabaisha, one of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling companions, on a sand dune in the Ramlat ar Rabbad sands. Salim bin Ghabaisha, a tribesman of the Bayt Imani lineage of Rashid Bedouin, stands on the side of a bare sand dune holding a camel stick. He wears a cartridge belt with suspenders over his thobe (shirt) and a plain headscarf topped with an 'agal (head rope). His long straight hair hangs down to his shoulders under his headscarf.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
