Seated group portrait of seven men, retainers of Sheikh Shakhbut bin Sultan Al Nahyan, kneeling on the ground outside Qasr Al Hosn fort. The seven retainers kneel in a line on the ground in front of several disused cannons lying in the sand behind them. Most of the men hold rifles, while the man at the centre holds a camel stick. In the far background are a number of 'arish huts and stone buildings. When this picture was taken Qasr Al Hosn fort was the home of Sheikh Shakhbut bin Sultan Al Nahyan, then ruler of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi (1928-1966).

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
