Seated portrait of Wilfred Thesiger taken by an unknown photographer at the southern end of the mountain Jabal Hafit (Jebel Hafeet) near Al Qabil. Wilfred Thesiger sits in the foreground, resting his arm over his knee and holding a camel stick. He wears a khanjar (dagger) on a cartridge belt and leather suspenders over his thobe (shirt) and a headscarf topped with an 'agal (head rope). In the distance behind him trees and bushes grow on a flat plain below Jabal Hafit (Jebel Hafeet), which rises in the far background.
