Description
Close up portrait of a curly haired boy of the Mahamid lineage of Duru Bedouin, taken in the region west of the Hamrat ad Duru. The boy is the son of Huaishil, a man who was one of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling companions and a sheikh of the Duru. The boy stands facing towards the near left. He is smiling. He is wearing a headscarf wrapped loosely around his head and a light coloured thobe (shirt). In the distance beyond dry vegetation lies in the sand.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
