Profile portrait of 'Amair bin 'Omar, one of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling companions, riding a camel in the vicinity of the Ramlat Unayq, near the Dhahir mountains north of Al Ain. The party is travelling from Al Ain to Jabal Sumeini. 'Amair bin 'Omar, a tribesman of the Bayt Imani lineage of Rashid Bedouin, rests on his camel. His camel stands on a clump of sedge on the side of a sand dune. 'Amair bin 'Omar's face is shaded from the sun by his ghutra (headscarf) which is wrapped closely around his head. A few tufts of vegetation grow on the dune's slope behind him.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
