Description

Group portrait of three of Sheikh Shakhbut bin Sultan Al Nahyan's retainers sitting on the Corniche in Abu Dhabi. The elderly man on the left wears a dark robe (bisht) decorated with gold embroidery over his long shirt (thobe), and a headscarf topped with a thick light 'agal (head rope). The man next to him is seated in a half-kneeling pose with his hand at his mouth. He is wearing a long shirt, a patterned headscarf, and a camel stick which leans on his chest. At the right, a third man is seated in a half-kneeling pose, also with his hand by his mouth. The ocean stretches out across the background behind the men, and in the background on the far left a young girl looks over at the men.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
