View of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party trekking between oases in Liwa oasis. In the central foreground a man in a dark cloak, one of Wilfred Thesiger's Rashid Bedouin travelling companions, leads two camels up a steep, wind-rippled dune entirely bare of vegetation. On the left another man leads a camel further up the slope. Overhead the sky is empty of clouds. This image was taken during Wilfred Thesiger's journey from Al Ain to Liwa oasis, Al Dhafra and Baynunah sands in November and December 1948.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
