View of sailors on a dhow (sailboat) in the Persian Gulf near Dubai. A group of sailors stand on the port side of a dhow. In the foreground an African man stands next to one of the ship's cabins. Behind him another man wearing a thobe (long shirt) balances on a post and holds on to the main yard. This image was taken during Wilfred Thesiger's May 18-28, 1948 journey by dhow from Dubai to Bahrain Island.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
