Description
View of the Shindagha district from Dubai Creek. In the foreground a small boat and a large, heavily loaded dhow (sailboat) are beached in the sand. Behind the boats a number of people stand in the sand by piles of coral, used for building houses, which lie on the shore. In the left distance a large enclave of 'arish huts and enclosures made from palm fronds sit in the sand. In the central distance a square stone watchtower, the Shindagha, rises high above nearby buildings. On the far right side of the creek one and two storey houses fill the Shindagha district.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
