Description
Full length standing portrait of two Arab men in front of a rock wall in Dubai. On the left a young man wears a waistcoat and a khanjar (dagger) in a scabbard over his thobe (ankle-length shirt). He also holds a cane in one hand. The older man on the right wears a bisht (robe) over his thobe and also has a khanjar in a scabbard on a belt around his waist. Each man also wears a ghutra (headscarf). This image was taken during Wilfred Thesiger's May 10-18, 1948 stay in Sharjah and Dubai.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
