View of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party trekking through Al Dhafra sands during their journey across the Empty Quarter (Rub' al Khali) from Dhibi well to Al Batin sands. Wilfred Thesiger's travelling companions, tribesmen of the Bayt Imani lineage of Rashid Bedouin, ride their camels up the slope of a low dune at the left. A vast area of rolling dunes spreads out in all directions behind them.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
