In the far left foreground one of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling companions sits in the shade of tall ghaf [Prosopis cineraria] tree, surrounded by camping gear. In the central foreground another man stands in the shade. In the far distance a field of grass lies below a far hill covered with trees and bushes.
