Description
View of a member of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party trekking through Al Dhafra sands during their journey across the Empty Quarter (Rub' al Khali) from Dhibi well to Al Batin sands. One of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling companions, a tribesman of the Bayt Imani lineage of Rashid Bedouin, rides his camel, followed by two baggage camels, down a softly sloping dune. A small clump of vegetation pokes out of the dune behind him. Rolling dunes stretch into the far background.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
