Description
Half length portrait of Wilfred Thesiger taken during his party's journey from the As Saruq sands to Abu Dhabi near the end of his second journey across the Empty Quarter (Rub' al Khali). Wilfred Thesiger sits in the sand holding a camel stick in his lap with both hands. He is wearing a headscarf, a long shirt (thobe), and a khanjar (dagger) in a cartridge belt around his waist. He also wears an earring in his left ear.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
