Description

Portrait of a 20 year old sheikh of the village of Baydayn and another boy at Baydayn village in Wadi Hali. The sheikh, standing on the left, is holding a long dagger. He is wearing a white skirt and trousers, which are only worn at the time of the circumcision.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
