Description
Seated portrait of Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, then ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, at his fort in the town of Ras Al Khaimah. In the foreground Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi sits on a ledge atop his fort. He wears a dark flowing bisht (robe) and a thick 'agal (head rope) over his ghutra (headscarf). Behind him the parapets of the fort are visible, and in the background below one and two storey buildings, 'arish huts and enclosures made from palm fronds sit in the sand along the shore.
