Description
Seated portrait of Mahalhal bin 'Ati and Sahail bin Tahi, two of Wilfred Thesiger's Bedouin guides, in camp in the Wadi al 'Ayn. On the left Sahail bin Tahi, a tribesman of the Mudairiba lineage of Rashid Bedouin, sits in profile holding a few lengths of cord in his hands. On the right Mahalhal bin 'Ati, a tribesman of the Al Khamis lineage of Awamir Bedouin, sits facing forward holding a needle and thread. In front of them Omani style camel saddles and camel pads lie in the sand, while in the background grass or sedge grows.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
