Description
Portrait of Salim bin Kabina, a member of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party, and a tribesman of the Wahiba Bedouin at a well in the Wadi 'Andam. At the far left Salim bin Kabina, a tribesman of the Bayt Imani lineage of Rashid Bedouin, stands at the opening of the well pulling on a rope. Opposite him a tribesman of the Wahiba Bedouin, wearing a white wraparound skirt, is also hauling water from the well. On the right camels crowd around a mud trough, drinking water.
