Description
Portrait of an Arab falconer, a retainer in Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's hunting party, riding a camel with a falcon in the sands surrounding Al Ain. A falconer wearing a ghutra (headscarf) and a thobe (long shirt) topped with a cartridge belt kneels atop a camel. The falconer carries a hooded falcon on a mangalah (cuff) on his near arm. The camel stands in profile on a sand dune, facing towards the left, and it carries a large bag from its saddle. The sand dune on which the camel stands is ridged with small, secondary dunes.
