Description
Wilfred Thesiger's party taking a rest in As Saruq sands north of Liwa oasis during their journey to Abu Dhabi. Wilfred Thesiger's travelling companions, tribesmen of the Bayt Imani lineage of Rashid Bedouin, rest with their camels next to a large bush. One of the men is unloading a couched camel at the centre. All of the camels are couched except one, which is standing behind him. Surrounding him a number of other men work amongst the camels. The sands surrounding the men are rippled by the wind and dotted with dry vegetation and shrubs. Behind the men an expanse of low rolling dunes stretches out into the distance.
