View of one of Wilfred Thesiger's guides standing at their campsite below Jebel Hafeet [Jabal Hafit] mountain. In the foreground a man in an thobe (long shirt), and ghutra (headscarf) stands on a rock strewn flat, looking into the distance. Camp equipment and blankets are scattered across the ground on the left. On the far left the high jagged limestone cliffs of Jebel Hafeet [Jabal Hafit] rise above the flat, which is dotted with low vegetation, and slope across the far distance towards the right. On the far right another rock escarpment rises, half covered in shadow. Wilfred Thesiger spent a week on Jebel Hafeet [Jabal Hafit] hunting Arabian Tahr [Hemitragus jayakari] with Arab and Bedouin guides in April 1948.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
