Portrait of two members of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's hunting party with camels and falcons in the Al Khatam sands near Al Ain. In the left foreground a falconer wearing a cap and a light coloured thobe (long shirt) bends over next to a standing camel. The camel, a thoroughbred Omani, stands in profile facing towards the left, its head rope tied to a bush behind the falconer. A second camel is couched behind it on the sand. On the right Musallim bin Al Kamam, a sheikh of the Musaifar lineage of Rashid Bedouin and one of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling companions, walks across the sand holding a peregrine falcon. The falcon rests on a mangalah (cuff) on Musallim bin Al Kamam's hand, and is blinded with a leather hood. In background small shrubs and bushes grow on a flat expanse of sand sitting below a sky dotted with a few low clouds.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
