Description
View of two men in Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party standing next to a trilith monument near Mudayy. Two Bedouin tribesmen stand on the left in front of a trilith, a long row of upright stones. One of the men holds a rifle over his shoulder. In this region these triliths are found aligned with local watercourses, and are often found in conjunction with fire pits, a number of which are visible in the foreground. These triliths do not mark sites of actual graves and their specific purpose is still unknown.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
