View of Wilfred Thesiger's party trekking across dunes in Al Humrah sands during their journey to Umm az Zumul. In the near distance three of Wilfred Thesiger's Bedouin companions ride across rolling sand dunes. In the near left one of the men rides his camel at the top of a dune, while below, at the centre, a second man crosses a depression between the dunes. Further ahead a third member of the party rides towards the distance. Each man's mount is followed by a baggage camel. A few dots of vegetation grow in the sands surrounding them, while in the far distance rolling downs continue to the horizon below a cloudless sky.
