Description
Portrait of three members of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party hauling water from Furai well in Sharqiyah Sands. Three men stand around the opening of a well. On the left a man beds over the opening of Furai well, pulling on a line of rope. At the centre Hamad, a tribesman of the Mahra Bedouin, stands behind the well, while on the right a third man stands by the well holding a line of rope. Behind them a number of camels crowd around, waiting for water.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
