Description
Close up portrait of a curly haired boy of the Mahamid lineage of Duru Bedouin, taken in the region west of the Hamrat ad Duru. The boy is the son of Huaishil, a man who was one of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling companions and a sheikh of the Duru. The boy kneels on the ground, facing forward. He is wearing a plain headscarf and a dark coloured thobe (shirt), over which the handle of a khanjar (dagger) is visible.
