View of a member of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party at a Bani Yas palm grove and settlement near Radum in Liwa oasis. In the foreground one of Wilfred Thesiger's Rashid Bedouin travelling companions (likely Musallim bin Al Kamam, a sheikh of the Musaifar lineage of Rashid Bedouin), stands holding the head ropes of two saddled camels. Behind him salt bushes and date palms grow on a sand flat below a high sand dune. High above the flat groups of 'arish huts, made of saaf (palm fronds), sit high up on the slope of the dune. This image was taken during Wilfred Thesiger's journey from Al Ain to Liwa oasis, Al Dhafra and Baynunah sands in November and December 1948.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
