In the foreground footsteps and camel tracks criss-cross the wind-rippled sand around the party's campsite, situated in the far left background below a low dune ridge. A man stands at the centre of the camp amongst scattered saddles, camel blankets and other gear lying in the sand. In the distance beyond the rolling downs continue out towards the far horizon below a cloudless sky.
