Description
View (looking westward) of buildings at Laguna pueblo, located on on the Rio Laguna river (a tributary of the Rio Grande), about sixty miles west of Isleta. According to James Stevenson's original note for this photograph (prepared circa 1885), Laguna's 'earlier location was thirty miles north of the present village, but from time to time during the last three or four centuries changes have been made until the present location of the village was reached. [...] The photograph shows quite clearly the beauty and compactness of this typical pueblo.
