Description
View of a man at Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's hunting camp near Al Ain. A man wearing a cartridge belt over his thobe (long shirt) stands in an open sandy area, looking over at a couched camel in the near left foreground. Behind him a herd of goats and some couched camels rest in the sand. A group of men and children stand with the goats. Beyond the camp sand dunes dotted with trees and sparse vegetation fill the background. This image was taken during April 6-30, 1948, when Wilfred Thesiger stayed at Al Muwaiji fort in Al Ain as a guest of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
