Description
Standing full length portrait of Salim bin Kabina with Wilfred Thesiger's camel taken during the party's journey from the As Saruq sands to Abu Dhabi. Salim bin Kabina stands in a large expanse of flat sand to the right of the camel on which Wilfred Thesiger made his second journey across the Empty Quarter (Rub' al Khali). Salim bin Kabina holds the camel's head rope in his right hand and a rifle in his left hand. The camel stands on the left, loaded with gear.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
