Description
View of a group of men resting on a hill in front of Al Muwaiji fort in Al Ain. In the near centre left, four men sit in a group on the side of a low sand hill. Two men stand nearby on the left holding a saddled camel, while to the right of the group three camels stand beside them in the sand. In the background the square corner watchtower of Al Muwaiji fort rises high over a nearby building at the far left and a grove of trees on the right. This image was taken between December 20, 1948, and January 27, 1949, during which time Wilfred Thesiger stayed with Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in Al Ain and joined him on a number of hunting excursions.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
