Description
Portrait of two members of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party eating a meal during the party's journey from Ramlat al Ghirbaniyat to Furai well. Salim bin Kabina, a tribesman of the Bayt Imani lineage of Rashid Bedouin, sits on the left, looking down into the near foreground. Mahalhal bin 'Ati, a tribesman of the Al Khamis lineage of Awamir Bedouin, sits on the right. Each man wears a light coloured thobe (shirt) and a dark coloured ghutra (headscarf). In the distance behind them lies a vast empty plain.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
