Description
View of two of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling companions resting in camp north of Al Ain, near the Dhahir mountains, during the party's journey from Al Ain to Ramlat Unayq. A man sits in the central foreground beside a pile of camel blankets. A bearded Arab man, one of Wilfred Thesiger's guides and a retainer to Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, stands on the right, next to a large feathery bush. Each man wears a cartridge belt over his thobe (long shirt). Equipment, blankets and pots lie in the sand surrounding the men. Behind them a vast expanse of sand dotted with vegetation leads to a steep, rock face of a high mountain in the far distance.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
