Description
Close up portrait of Salim bin Kabina, one of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling companions, during the party's journey from Jabal Sumeini to the port city of Sharjah. Salim bin Kabina, a tribesman of the Bayt Imani lineage of Rashid Bedouin, faces forward. His ghutra (headscarf) lies around his shoulders on top of his thobe (long shirt) and his eyes are closed.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
