Description
Close-up portrait of the head of a Batina camel named Ghazala ('the gazelle'), a famous thoroughbred Batina camel owned by Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and renowned for its beauty and speed. The camel faces towards the left, and wears a chain halter attached to a head rope. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan loaned Ghazala to Wilfred Thesiger for his journey from Al Ain oasis to Sharjah.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
