Description
Portrait of Salim bin Ghabaisha, one of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling companions, on the gravel plains below Jabal Sumeini posing with a feral donkey shot by Wilfred Thesiger. Salim bin Ghabaisha, a tribesman of the Bayt Imani lineage of Rashid Bedouin, crouches behind the head of a dead donkey. He holds a rifle in both hands. Blood pools in the rocks beneath the donkey. Behind them a vast bare rocky plain continues into the far distance.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
