View of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party resting at a well in Al Batin or Al Dhafra sands. In the far distance members of Wilfred Thesiger's party stand at a well opening in the centre of a large depression. A number of camels are couched in the dark sand alongside the well. On the far left another well opening has been filled in with sand. In the distance beyond a large dune rises high above the depression. This image was taken during Wilfred Thesiger's journey from Al Ain to Liwa oasis, Al Dhafra and Baynunah sands in November and December 1948.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
