Description
View of sand dunes south-west of Al Ain, likely in the region of Al Humrah sands. In the foreground a desiccated plant sits in a small mound of sand on a sand dune. In the background small tufts of vegetation dot sand dunes that rise into rolling ridges and peaks in the distance. This image was taken during Wilfred Thesiger's journey from Al Ain to Liwa oasis, Al Dhafra and Baynunah sands in November and December 1948.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
