Description
View of one of Wilfred Thesiger's guides standing on a rocky valley slope in Jebel Hafeet [Jabal Hafit] mountain. A man wearing a thobe (long shirt) and ghutra (headscarf) stands on a large rock in the right foreground. He holds a rifle in his left hand. A few bushes grow among the large rocks surrounding him. In the background the far slope of the valley rises into high limestone peaks in the distance. Wilfred Thesiger spent a week on Jebel Hafeet [Jabal Hafit] hunting Arabian Tahr [Hemitragus jayakari] with Arab and Bedouin guides in April 1948.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
