Description
View of booms, large double masted dhows (sailboats) built in Kuwait, moored in the Persian Gulf at Bahrain Island. In the foreground a boom with two mast is moored in calm water rippled by gentle waves. In the right background three more booms are moored in the water. In the far distance a city can be seen sitting along the horizon. This image was taken during Wilfred Thesiger's May 18-28, 1948 journey by dhow from Dubai to Bahrain Island.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
